The Charity: UNICEF

For every rider on the trip, Exodus South will donate $200 to Unicef. Since 1947, the United States Fund for UNICEF has supported the work of the United Nations Children's Fund by raising support for its programs and increasing public awareness of the challenges facing the world's children. As the oldest of 37 national committees for UNICEF worldwide, the U.S. Fund is part of a global effort to advance humanitarian efforts through programs for the health, education, equality and protection for every child. The U.S. Fund for UNICEF improves children's daily lives in the 155 countries and territories where UNICEF works -- not just with food, water and medicine but also with safety, peace and hope. In support of UNICEF's work, the U.S. Fund for UNICEF focuses on five major priorities: education, emergencies, HIV/AIDS, immunization, and malnutrition.

Though we are donating $200 to charity for every rider on the tripe, we hope that each rider can raise at least another $800 for a total of $1000. If this is not in your budget, there are a number of ways to reach your goals:

  • Create a personal fundraising site on Firstgiving.com. Each site displays a graph that posts your target amount, your charity and how much you raised so far along with any other information and pictures you want on your site.
  • Throw a dinner party or BBQ and charge per head
  • Throw a party at your favorite club or bar
  • Have a yard sale
  • Hit up the people at work and see if your oss will match funds
  • Ask for donations on your birthday and the holidays
  • Look for sponsorship from your local motorcycle shop or other local businesses
